Facing the Facts: Inside Story on Leveling, Farming, PvP, and PvE

By Christopher Beachum | September 29, 2009

I have to be honest with you. WoW is an addicting game. It just has so many ways to play and enjoy the game that it’s hard for me to choose. Some people love the quests. It makes them feel as if they are actually the

re in the world of Azeroth. Some are Scrooges bent out on ruling the farming locations and auction house. You would be surprised how similar it is to the stock market. Then there are the fighters, nothing but death, destruction, and maybe a few heals here and their can quench their thirst. And you never could forget PvE every one wants a piece of the action on the latest world bosses. You know what is rare to see in WoW? Someone who can master all of these aspects of the game. Why is there very few masters in this game you might ask? Elementary my dear. It’s hard to accomplish! When you look at it there are only three ways possible to become the best at the game. One, doing it on your own. Two, buying a guide on these aspects. Three, hiring an online service to do this for you. All three have their ups and downs (some more downs then ups). Through personal experience I will state the following confession confession of a WoW addict.

How come there seems to be a shortage of masters of this game? Well that is quite simple. It’s ridiculously hard to do! Now when trying to become a master of the game there are three routes to make it to the top. One, doing this all by yourself. Two, buying a guide on these aspects. Three, hiring an outside service to do this for you and you reap the benefits. All three have their ups and downs and I would like to share some personal experience with each.

Starting out how I started out, on my own. This at first didn’t seem all that difficult, so I thought, but the more I played the harder it was to level, more people farming my spots, harder opponents, and tougher bosses. The only time that I really advanced my toon was when I had a chance to talk to people who I considered masters of the game and they would let out a tip or two to help me out. Really if you are trying to save your money, this would be the best route to go, but the most difficult. It’s all about who you know and what they know. Being impatient I just straight on to a third party service. And may I take a second out of my story to explain to you this. Deciding to use this service was completely f@%king retarded. Pardon my French. Shorty after my credit card was drained my account was stolen and stripped. If you do not listen to anything else I have to say in this article listen to this. DO NOT HIRE AN ONLINE SERVICE. You will save money and time by listening to me.

Then I turned to guides to help me in my quest for leet status. Threes a charm right? I mean that’s how it goes I try three times and get it on the third. Or fourth fifth maybe? I just could never catch a break. Even with these “fool” proof guides that probably same Chinese gold farmer who stole my money from the account posted, I still didn’t get the results I wanted. What was the point in wasting all this money, I pondered quitting WoW.

But you see my friend I am still playing WoW, and If I must say I have achieved that status that I refer to as LEET. ☺ Lets say that I was down, but not out when I was searching for the right guide. I just happen to cross paths with Dave, the creator of Ultimate WoW Guide series. I first contacted him asking a few PvP questions because I saw some of his post in WoW forums. He then stated that he was just pulling some excerpts from his PvP guide and that he also has other guides like leveling, PvE, gold farming, and even specific guides as to midsummer festival etc. First thing I thought was “O great here comes a sales pitch and then a hidden catch” Surprising to me it didn’t come He actually placed a bet with me. ( Love betting ). He stated if I couldn’t improve my skills on WoW to the level I wanted them after purchasing his guide that he would hand over his account to me no arguments hands down. How can I pass this, I thought to myself. Pay for the guide use it, and just say I didn’t like it and I get an amazing account! Ladies and gentlemen I have to say that I didn’t win the bet. He was right his guides were on point. Being a man of my word I told him of his victory, and promised to spread the word. So here I am, and I would like to place the same bet on you. If you buy a guide from him and are truly unsatisfied by any aspect of it I will give up one my accounts to you. Level 80 Hunter don’t like hunters? Sell the account and get your money back. Its worth easily $300-$400. My email is MyWoWChallenge@gmail.com you have any questions, aim is zero0409, heck if you really try to get a hold of me I will give you my cell phone number.
