Remember that it is not necessary to take a profession when you begin to level. Leveling a profession can take just as long as leveling in general even if the trainers are present. When you want to level fast, you are going to need gold to level. Gold will let you buy better gear, and it will also keep you on top of the training that you need. No matter what you pick up, make sure that you sell it. Larger bags are a good investment to make. Completely finishing a whole area will also level you faster. Of course some people might not agree with this, but if you completely finish a zone, you will definitely be able to take on the next. Every area will require you to be higher level than the last, so making sure you are able to proceed is important.
If you do every quest in each zone you will definitely be ready to challenge the next area. If you are not prepared for the next zone is can really slow you down. You should consider building a party of players to help you advance. Questing in large groups can help you move through scenarios faster but you will end up splitting experience between party members. You can gain a lot of experience in a dungeon, but they are best done with a group. You can depend on your higher level companions to help you through tougher scenarios, they can be a big help at more advanced levels.
