To be able to play World of Warcraft, you need to buy the CD game. It consists of 4 CD which you need to install on your PC. Installation is very easy. When you have successfully install World of Warcraft, what you need to do next is to signup and subscribe at their website. Off course you need to connect to the internet. Monthly subscription fee is about US$19.95. You can subscribe and pay the fee monthly, or three-monthly, or half-yearly. But when you first purchase WoW CD game, it usually came with first month free subscription fee. For the subscription fee, my advise would be to adjust with your personal budget. But trust me when I say you’ll enjoy playing World of Warcraft. You enjoy it so much making the subscription fee not an issue anymore.
A series of servers operates World of Warcraft. The server location, or in WoW language known as “Realms”, is differ depending on where you are. The realms positioned globally and you just need to connect to whichever realms local to you. This will make your the game faster and more reliable. But don’t worry. World of Warcraft realms are very reliable and well maintained. Another reason why WoW is the leader in MMORPG.
Azeroth is the name of the world where World of Warcraft events took place. Azeroth is a unique world, quite similar to our planet Earth, but has its own unique history, myths and off course unique creatures. After creating Azeroth, it is said the ancient gods then gave rise to the earliest races on the planet. With its own forests, oceans, rivers, mountains, cities, caverns, dungeons, Azeroth is an interesting place to have an adventure. Just like our beloved Earth, Azeroth has gone thru pain and experience much trouble. It also has gone thru great wars and conflict.
The inhabitants of Azeroth is not what you would find here on Earth. In general, Azeroth has 3 great continents which is The Eastern Kingdom, Kalimdor and Northrend. Each great continent has their own unique inhabitant creatures and climate. Humans, dwarfs and gnomes inhabit the Eastern Kingdom. The inhabitants of Eastern Kingdom is known as The Alliance. While orcs, trolls and taurens inhabit Kalimdor. And they are known as The Horde. The third great continent, Northrend inhabited by the wicked Lich King and its underlings.
Azeroth is a beautiful, rich and detailed world. Although the world of Azeroth is vast but the game is generally easy even for beginners. When playing WoW, you need to choose which side are you on, the Alliance or the Horde. Each side has their own advantages and disadvantages. While the Alliance has more pretty faces and physical, the Horde, on the other hand, has ugly and sometimes scary faces. Although ugly, the Horde in general are stronger in physical strength compare to the Alliance. But no worry, the Alliance is more agile and move faster than the Horde. So you see, each group has their own strengths and weaknesses.
World of Warcraft gave you the ability to create and design your own character. You can also customize their clothing, weapon, armor, etc. You have 9 different classes to choose for your character. Example, you can choose your character to be a hunter, mage, rogue, shaman or warrior. Each class have their own unique ability, strength and skills. Choose and use it wisely as it can be very helpful when you play the game. It seems rather bit confusing for newbie, choosing character and then choosing class, but I assure you, it’s not as hard as it sound.
Playing MMORPG is mostly about exploring new places. World of Warcraft is no different. In your adventure in the world of Azeroth, you’ll be fighting monsters or other players. Sometimes to progress and get to the next level, you need to fight monsters or savage creatures. Every level you need to play in this game has their own unique area for exploration. Besides fighting, you’re objective is also to collect gold which is the ultimate currency in Azeroth. With gold, you can buy new, better and stronger armor or weapon. Collect as many gold as you can to help you progress and get the good stuff in this game. Along the way you’ll also find items in your exploration. You can use the items for your character or sell them for gold.
The control in World of Warcraft is easy to handle. The control system is sensible and makes good use of the keyboard and mouse. A newbie wouldn’t have much problem mastering the control. World of Warcraft also includes in-game camera which allow us to look around and have a full view of the environment.
World of Warcraft is a great game for anyone to play. Blizzard Entertainment has successfully developed a wonderful and addictive online game. Every player will enjoy exploring the beautiful detailed and vast world of Azeroth, fighting monsters or other players, finding rare items, collecting gold, trading items, and so much more.
