A gathering profession and a service profession could be combined. This will allow you to use materials that you gather to craft various items that can be sold in the auction house.
Leatherworking works great with the skinning profession. You can also make armor and save gold that way. Alchemy and herbalism work well together. Alchemy needs herbs to fabricate potions. So it is not necessary to buy World of Warcraft gold, there are many ways to earn it in game.
