World of Warcraft Tips for Mage Class Leveling

A mage class also has it weaknesses. It is indeed one of the most powerful class in World of Warcraft since its magic attack can certainly reduce significant amount of HP from the enemy. It is also very effective for medium or long range combat. But for close range combat, I would not want to fight as a mage. Mage is weak in physical defense. Plus the spell casting can take sometimes before you finally strike a magic blow at the enemy. So a mage will be very powerful when fighting in a wide open area. Since you can easily run around to avoid being hit in close range combat. And you can also run far away from the enemy in order to give you time to cast a powerful spell and then hit your opponent with the spell.
Mage classes are one of the most versatile classes in World of Warcraft. Below are some tips for you to use if your hero is a mage class hero. This tips will surely make your journey easier.
1. Always cast your most powerful spell when given the chance. But since casting a powerful spell will need sometimes, it is better if your distance with the opponent quite far. Do not bother to cast a weak spell. When the first spell successfully hits your enemy, then start a new powerful spell casting right away. Hopefully you can hit your enemy with two spells and kill him, before the enemy reaches you to strike a blow.
2. If you are in a close range combat and the enemy has already strike a successful blow to you, immediately freeze your enemy and then run away from him. If there is a another enemy, freeze him too and cast polymorph spell to turn the second enemy into a sheep. Then you hit the first opponent until he dies. Immediately heal yourself before the effect of polymorph spell on the second enemy wears off. Now you are in full health, or at least having more health and ready to strike the second opponent.
3. The greatest weakness of mage class is in physical defense. So it will be very wise if you equip with lots of potion. Potion is needed to restore your lost HP due to fighting. The Auction House is a place where you can easily buy potion with a great price. But you need to look around for potion with a good deal. Elixir is also another thing you need to equip. Elixir will increase your spell power and intellectual. Elixir can also be easily bought at the Auction House. If you did not want to buy potion or elixir, you still have another option which is creating the item yourself. You just need to combine alchemy with herbalism and create potion or elixir on your own.
4. Every classes will have their own primary weapon. For a mage class character, your primary weapon will be a staff or wand. Wand is handier and more flexible to use. And I would suggest you to choose using a wand rather than a staff. A wand also great when your character is low on mana. It is easy for you to freeze your enemy using a wand and then you can freely hit your enemy with powerful spell or just a normal attack.
5. Arcane intellect is very important for a mage. So do not ever forget your arcane intellect. You will need this power to be up all the times along with another power of your choice. And remember to make a good use of your elixir. Elixir can be very helpful.
6. Herbalism is a very good profession for a mage in the World of Warcraft. When your characters level is high enough, your mage character can learn a very important skill which is Lifeblood. Lifeblood is basically a spell which will heal your health or HP in the middle of a fight. When you have mastered this spell, you can either use Lifeblood or a potion to restore your health.
7. If you are being ambushed by the enemies, try your best to run away from the opponents. As I mentioned before, mage is weak in defense. Use blink to move away from the enemy. In case you did not know, blink is a spell for teleporting your character in a short distance, just to give enough space from the enemy. Other than blink, freeze is also a good spell. Use the combination of this two spells in combat and hopefully you will be able to win the fight.
