WoW PvP Guide – Amazing PvP Strategies Revealed
By John Chown | January 30, 2010
Playing World of Warcraft and can\’t defeat your opponents? Do you limp away from the battle field feeling humiliated? Well, the WoW PvP Guide is here to help you! If you ever wondered how the best players are able to crush their enemies every time, this WoW PvP guide will expose their mind
There are three primary game modes for PvP play in World of Warcraft: Battlegrounds, Open-World PvP, and Arena PvP. Each game mode is somewhat different from the other; however, killing your enemies and winning are still the main objectives. Let\’s take a peek at each PvP game mode that exists in World of Warcraft.
Open World PvP: More commonly known in game as \”world pvp\” this is basically ganking and fighting in the games world and not in a BG or Arena. This is to be expected in most of the PvP Server\’s areas but not so much in the PvE Servers. Everyone at some point or other has been corpse camped by so annoying jerk. Usually these type of gankers are looking for areas that are popular places to gain exp at. While this provides a great dynamic to the game it can also be quite annoying in the same respect. A new style of World Pvp has shown up with the Lich King Expansion called Wintergrasp. This is a zone in Northrend devoted to one thing, \”World Pvp\”. You storm or protect a large fortress through the use of various tanks and other siege weapons.
Strategies for Wintergrasp Taking command of the two workshops nearest the keep is your best approach. You could try controlling other workshops not as close to the keep, but your line of attack will be much better by utilizing those workshops. If you are guarding those workshops, your main concern is slowing the progress of your opponents by not giving them that ground to advance from, so your team must guard those workshops with everything they have.
Also, you must know where to hit your opponents so they can cause as little damage to you as possible, such as destroying their siege machines. This strategy is sound, especially since those machines cannot be fixed or healed. The WoW PvP guide has more step-by-step instructions for successful campaigns through these areas, but these hints have worked for me time and again.
In Battlegrounds PvP, Alterac Valley, the primary goal in this BG is to kill the opposing team\’s general. You can dispose of him faster if your team controls the base towers, making the general\’s dangerous guards despawn. Read on to learn how to do it. Know that the player limit in this BG is 80 (40 on each team). Post ten defenders (at least two of them healers) at your home base, and send several silent attackers to capture the enemy\’s base towers. The towers usually aren\’t manned, so it should be pretty simple. Instruct your available forces to kill the midfield captain and take the midfield towers. Once the base towers are yours, you can move on to killing the general, regardless of what is going on in the midfield. I have also seen this technique in some WoW PvP guides, and it has worked great for me.
In the Battleground, Eye of the Storm, the mission is to be the first to get 2000 points. There is a flag in the middle of an area squared-out by four towers that can be taken. You gain points by taking the flag to any of your towers and by just controlling as many towers as you can. When the enemy is overpowering your squad, you need a good plan. When the opposing team has 3 of the 4 towers, take the flag and a few teammates and run. Once the enemy holds all 4 towers, they will come looking for the flag, as long as you keep it concealed. This will distract them, allowing your team to retake any towers and improving your chance for victory. This approach has gained momentum for my team quite frequently, and can be found in a WoW PvP guide.
Warsong Gulch – Simply put, get the flag 3 times and you gain this battleground. The WoW PvP guides have quite a few strategies for this battleground. You can charge your opponent and seize their flag while cutting them off from your flag, or you can use the standard 2-team offense and defense manuveur, or you can use the majority of your group to guard your flag and send the craftiest of your men to capture your opponent\’s flag. I prefer this strategy so long as everyone follows directions. Have the majority of your group maintain control in the middle of the area while having your DPS slay the attacking enemies. Order two men and a druid to capture your opponent\’s flag. The druid will be guarded by the others as he returns with the flag.
Strand of the Ancients – A smaller scaled version of Wintergrasp Open PvP with identical goals. With your tanks keeping tempo with each other, break through the first gate quickly. Then it\’s simply a matter of seizing rule of the graveyard. The workshop there is where you can acquire more tanks. Destroy the turrets at the 3rd gate. While the opponent places his forces at the gate to stop you, they are left open to be taken by the turret fire. Don\’t worry about anything but your opponent\’s tanks. You should also make sure your bomb squad is positioned at the gate.
Arathi basin: Sort of like Eye of the Storm without a flag, you need to control as many areas as you can. A great way to do this is to go straight for the mid field points, the Blacksmith. Once you have the middle ground you can send troops to other areas more smoothly. Once the BG starts head straight for the Blacksmith, there will always be others to grab which ever base is closest to you. A lot of WoW PvP guides will tell you different, but this is what works for me.
The most demanding kind of PvP is Arena. You must perform flawlessly, regardless if you\’re playing 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, or 5 vs 5. You need things like macros, keybinds, and MODs to attain perfection. Utilizing voice chat is one of your most essential tools. Constantly communicate and coordinate your actions with your team. I usually don\’t employ a predictable rush-the-enemy strategy; instead, I lay back with other team members and keep the enemy guessing. My team hesitates for like 10-15 seconds and then we attack forcefully. Even against insurmountable odds, these strategies guaranteed our victory.
I used these techniques to successfully accumulate wins in PvP. I discovered these strategies through hundreds of hours of game play, and perfected them by utilizing a WoW PvP guide. You will find all kinds of astonishing tactics in these WoW PvP guides, and they will definitely assist you in attaining complete and total victory.
